Galfer – brake specialists since 1952
Galfer has been manufacturing friction materials in Spain since 1952 and supplies numerous motorcycle manufacturers as OEM. All street compounds carry ECE-R90 approval for public roads.
Which compound is right for you?
- Organic / semi-metal (G1050, G1054): smooth bite, gentle on the disc – the choice for classics in original condition.
- Sintered street (G1370, G1371): more bite and consistent in the wet – our everyday recommendation.
- Sintered sport (G1375): for sporty riders, road approved.
- Racing / GP (G1375R, G1310, G1003): uncompromising track compounds – no road approval.
One pad set serves one caliper – twin-disc systems need two sets. The compound selector on each product shows which compounds are available for your bike.
Frequently asked questions about Galfer brake pads
Which compound is right for my classic?
For bikes in original condition and normal road use we recommend organic/semi-metal – smooth bite and gentle on old brake discs. For more bite, choose sintered street.
Are Galfer brake pads road legal?
All street and sport compounds carry ECE-R90 approval. Racing and GP compounds are pure competition pads without road approval – this is stated on each product.
How many sets do I need?
One set per caliper. Twin-disc front ends need two sets – noted in each product’s vehicle list.
Do new pads need bedding in?
Yes. Brake moderately for the first 100–200 km and avoid sustained hard braking until pad and disc have bedded in.
