Fork springs are the key component of the front suspension. They must be soft enough to absorb road imperfections for a comfortable ride, yet firm enough to support the motorcycle's weight and prevent excessive front-end dive during braking. Conventional linear fork springs always represent a compromise. While they may be suitable for track use where maximum performance is prioritized over comfort, they are less effective on public roads where varying riding conditions require a more versatile suspension setup.
Hyperpro's progressive fork springs feature a variable coil spacing that increases the spring rate as the fork compresses. This progressive design allows the suspension to react smoothly to small bumps while providing increased support during heavy braking, acceleration, and larger impacts. Unlike linear springs, progressive springs maintain effective suspension performance throughout the entire stroke, helping to prevent bottoming out and ensuring that impacts are absorbed by the suspension rather than the tire.
The initial section of the spring is softer to enhance ride comfort and steering feel. The middle section efficiently absorbs road irregularities, while the final, firmer section provides excellent chassis control under heavy braking and acceleration, significantly improving stability and front-end confidence.
