The Hyperpro Progressive Fork Spring Kit has been specifically developed for installation in the motorcycle's original front forks. Fork springs are the key component of the front suspension system. They must be soft enough to provide a comfortable ride, while also being firm enough to support the motorcycle's weight and prevent excessive fork dive under braking.
Linear fork springs are always a compromise. While they may be well suited for track use, where performance takes priority over comfort, road riding requires greater flexibility to adapt to changing conditions and ensure maximum safety.
Progressive fork springs feature a gradually increasing coil spacing. When a linear spring is compressed, most of its coils eventually reach coil bind and stop functioning. With a progressive spring, the compression is distributed more evenly, preventing the coils from binding prematurely. This allows the spring to absorb impacts more effectively instead of transferring them to the tire, resulting in improved control and reduced tire wear.
The initial section of the spring is softer to enhance comfort, steering feel, and overall ride quality. The middle section efficiently absorbs road irregularities, while the firmer final section provides greater chassis control during braking and acceleration, improving stability and rider confidence.
