The Hyperpro Progressive Fork Spring Kit has been specifically developed for installation in the motorcycle's original front forks. Fork springs are an essential part of the suspension system: they need to be soft enough to provide comfort, while also being firm enough to support the motorcycle's weight and prevent excessive front-end dive.
Linear springs are always a compromise. They can be suitable for track use, where comfort is often sacrificed in favor of performance. For road riding, however, greater adaptability is required to cope with different conditions while maintaining a high level of safety.
With progressive springs, the spacing between the coils gradually increases. When a linear fork spring is compressed, many of the coils can reach coil bind at the end of the suspension travel, touch each other, and no longer work effectively. Progressive springs, on the other hand, control and distribute the compression movement more evenly, preventing the coils from reaching coil bind prematurely.
This allows the spring to continue absorbing impacts and road imperfections instead of transferring them directly to the tire. The result is improved control of the motorcycle and potentially reduced tire wear.
The initial section of the spring is softer, improving comfort and ride feel while providing more precise handling. The middle section effectively absorbs road irregularities, while the firmer final section provides additional suspension control during braking and acceleration and increases overall motorcycle stability.
